CHAMOMILE

Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla) is a very common plant in Greece. It is an annual plant, with characteristic delicate aroma.

Its low tender stem has devided leaves that look like feathers. The flowers are yellowish and appear in mid-spring.

It is considered a medicinal plant with anticonvulsant properties, good for the stomach, disinfectant, sedative, diuretic, antipyretic. Valuable also for its essential oil, which is extracted from the flowers.

Chamomile can be found near populated areas all over Europe and temperate Asia.
