OREGANO

Oregano (Origanum vulgare) is a perennial member of the mint family, that is native to the Mediterranean region, especially to Greece. The most famous Greek plant makes its appearance in late Spring, when it begins to bloom giving its characteristic rich aroma.

The little, rather oval green leaves of the plant as well as its flowers count for its strong flavor. The higher its content in essential oil, the better the quality.

Rubbed oregano leaves are easy to use in food, especially pizza, meat, salads, on vegetables where they unfold their spicy uniquely delicious flavor.
